Join us for an informative, entertaining talk on the sport of gloved boxing featuring the life of Max Baer with author and boxing historian Colleen Aycock and her husband, Dave Wallace. Ms. Aycott’s most recent book is “The Magnificent Max Baer: The Life of the Heavyweight Champion and Film Star.” Max Baer has roots right here in Durango! Learn about his heyday in the 1930’s as well as his subsequent film, radio, stage careers and war service. Fittingly, the talk is scheduled on what would have been Max’s 110th Birthday – a perfect time to celebrate this piece of sporting history!
